The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Acquisition Academy is adding an opportunity for entrepreneurs to exhibit at the 2023 Acquisition Workforce Innovation Symposium (AWIS). The AWIS brings together up to 1,500 VA acquisition professionals. The attendees will include Program Managers, Contracting Officers and Contracting Specialist for training. The gathering also creates an opportunity for the federal staff attending to interact with businesses as part of their education about performing market research. Please note :
- Providing the information does not guarantee you will be able to attend as an exhibitor.
- Vendors will be selected to exhibit based on acquisition professional’s needs related to one of the Communities of Interest below
- Entrepreneurs shall not make travel arrangements to attend AWIS before being selected to exhibit and notified by the Direct Access Program
- Exhibitors will not be allowed to attend any of the AWIS training sessions, general sessions, partake in any meals or consume food items provided by the government
- One exhibit table will be allowed per firm.
For the purposes of grouping exhibitors, the following categories pertain. When submitting your interest to exhibit, entrepreneurs will select one of the following business lines:
Communities of Interest
Facilities Supplies and Services
Pertains to construction/construction-related services. Examples include major and minor construction; non-recurring maintenance; lease-related; environmental preservation; engineering operations; memorial and regional benefits facilities.
Information Technology and Services
Pertains to the development, maintenance, and use of computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and distribution of data. The products and services may include information protection; Enterprise Architecture; customized I.T. services; asset management or procurement; enterprise application development, and testing applications.
Medical Supplies and Services
Pertains to the products and services needed to provide quality medical care and support.
Specialty Supplies and Services
Pertains to any product or service not classified in the other three COIs. This may include professional services like consulting, data analysis; accounting, marketing, auditing, editing, administration, technical advice, or specialized project-based service.
Exhibit space is limited. There is no cost to exhibit.
The standard exhibit booth package will have:
- One 6’ x 30” H draped table (uniform in color)
- Two limerick side chairs
- One wastebasket
- One booth identification sign
The cost to get additional items beyond those identified above will be incurred by the exhibitor and payment remitted directly to the show decorator.
It is anticipated companies selected to exhibit will be notified during the week of Monday, May 22. Firms not selected will also be informed.
