About Metrc LLC. :
Originally founded as Franwell, Inc. in 1993 in Lakeland, Florida to provide supply chain solutions for highly regulated products such as pharmaceuticals and food, Franwell expanded its capabilities in 2011 to the cannabis industry by designing the first seed-to-sale system in close collaboration with state regulators in Colorado. In 2012 the System went live and - following Colorado’s success – other states like Oregon, Alaska, and Maryland saw the value in seed-to-sale systems and partnered with Franwell.
Rebranding as Metrc LLC in 2017, Metrc has grown to partner with 22 government agencies for their seed-to-sale tracking system. Within the last 48 months, Metrc has been contracted to implement our System for seven new agency partners and has had contracts renewed with four ongoing agency partners to provide, successfully implement, and maintain a fully operational COTS (commercial off the shelf) solution.
Since 2011, Our company has grown to over 140 employees and as Metrc has grown there has been a concerted effort made to retain employees while also recruiting top talent from various industries. The result is a team of experts with nearly a century of combined experience in track and-trace systems. At the same time, the team’s experience is diverse, representing public administration, consumer goods, finance, logistics, consulting, information technology, and telecommunications.
Metrc is a proven and thoroughly tested supply chain visibility tool that has demonstrated the ability to securely deploy nationally and for any industry. The basic constructs apply and are configurable to any supply chain. In the jurisdictions we serve, the Metrc System has over 1,500 regulatory users and over 290,000 licensee users from nearly 40,000 business licenses. Using the System, our public sector clients have recorded just under $40 billion in industry sales and over 5 billion supply chain events. These 5 billion supply chain events include packages, transports, and tests – all traceable through an unimpeachable chain of custody that is at the core of the Metrc System.
